Ontario has held their largest Employer Job Offer draw ever

Ontario has held their largest Employer Job Offer draw ever, inviting a total of 1,235 candidates through the Foreign Worker Stream. Today’s draw also marks the lowest cut-off selected in a general draw since Ontario’s nominee program implemented the Expression of Interest. Of the 1,235 invitations issued, 24 were reserved for candidates eligible under the Regional Immigration Pilot.

So far this year, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has issued 1,949 invitations under the Foreign Worker Stream.

July 13th OINP Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream draw results

General Draw

  • Invitations: 1,211
  • Minimum score: 33

Regional Pilot Targeted Draw

  • Invitations: 24
  • Minimum score: N/A

Today’s draw demonstrates a continued pattern of inviting Regional Immigration Pilot candidates in a separate draw, with no minimum score requirement.

What is the Regional Immigration Pilot?

Ontario’s Regional Immigration Pilot is a two-year pilot program designed to help fill labour shortages and support economic growth in select rural and small communities. To be eligible, one must have a full-time and permanent job offer from an employer; the job offer must also be in one of the select pilot communities. In addition, candidates must meet the criteria for one of Ontario’s Employer Job Offer Categories.

Ontario has set aside 150 nomination spaces for this pilot program this year (of a total 8,600 nominations allocated). At this time, OINP has issued 88 invitations to these candidates. However, OINP cannot guarantee that all candidates who receive an invitation will also receive a nomination.

Once a candidate receives an invitation, they have just 14 calendar days to apply for nomination. At this time, candidates must remit an application fee of up to $2000 CAD (depending on the region of the offer). Upon receiving a nomination, successful applicants may subsequently apply for Canadian permanent residence.
